Belmont Invites you to come Back to Church

Belmont Baptist Church is excited to be participating in National Back to Church Sunday! Come to Belmont and experience a special Sunday of welcoming and fellowship.

National Back to Church Sunday

National Back To Church Sunday began as a movement to invite everyone in America to church by empowering and motivating church members to invite their family and friends to come with them to a special service hosted by the local church.  The national event is taking place this year on September 18th, but due to conflicting engagements for many of our members, Belmont will be holding our Back to Church Sunday on September 23, and we are calling it Back to Belmont Sunday.

The national movement was spurred on by the following statistics:

  • “82% of the unchurched are at least somewhat likely to attend church if invited” –Dr. Thom Rainer, The Unchurched Next Door
  • Yet only 2% of Christians EVER invite someone to church!

See more at the National website.

Belmont encourages all of our members to bring their friends, family, neighbors, and anyone else they can find to Belmont.  However, anyone can come back to church, and visit Belmont.

As usual, Sunday School will start at the normal 9:30 AM.  Our greeters in the foyer will be happy to lead new visitors to their classes. We will have a special sermon Sunday morning at 11 AM in the sanctuary using this year’s theme, “You Belong Here”.  That Sunday night at 5 PM, we will be viewing the movie  I Can Only Imagine.  In the following Sundays, we will have a sermon series based on this powerful motion picture.

We will also be showing a family movie for younger children in the MPR (multi-purpose room) during the showing of I Can Only Imagine in the sanctuary.
